Healthy and pecan pie just really don't belong in the same sentence1 But we have got to do better than that horrible corn syrup! It's still a sugar but maple syrup is a much healthier ingredient for the traditional and well beloved Pecan Pie!
So let's swap out that one ingredient, add a few more and bake us some deliciousness without a ton of guilt!

Maple Syrup Pecan Pie
3 large organic eggs, beaten
1 cup maple syrup
2 T melted butter
1 t vanilla
1-1/2 cups pecans
Stir the first four ingredients till blended. Add pecans. Pour into an unbaked pie shell and bake at 350 for 50-55 minutes or until knife comes out clean
I tried this organic gluten-free crust from the health food store and found it quite yummy!

I promised a friend a pecan pie for her birthday in November. Many disruptions later & she is trying to lose weight, so really doesn't want me to make it for her. But this looks so healthy & delish, I am thinking about trying it for her. She is single so maybe she will only want a half.
Anyway, what it is the delicious gluten pie crust you bought ready made?
